August Block of Training
Hey People,
Deload week is done — your body and mind should be feeling fresh, recovered, and ready to get after it again. You’ve earned it.
Over the last two blocks, we laid the foundation with 5×8 strength work, then built on it with 3×5. Now it’s time to progress to 3×3 — heavier weight, but always with the goal of making the first and third rep feel exactly the same… the third might just be a little slower.
In fact, you’re going to hear us say it in class — “The first and third rep should feel exactly the same… the third is just a little slower.” Get used to it, because that’s the standard for this block.
This cycle is all about your own progression — building strength, refining technique, and finishing each session better than you started. You’ll also gain more confidence in metcons — knowing exactly how to approach them, and exactly how to execute them well.
We’ll keep hammering the big three lifts — back squat, deadlift, and bench press — paired with gymnastics and skill work to sharpen your athleticism. This is where all that base-building starts paying off in a big way.
