LUS – Episode 198
Hello Levo Family, Welcome to the 198th edition of the Levo Update Show. Here are the highlights:
- New Cycle – Front Squat, Bench Press, and Deadlift will be our strength priorities. And on the gymnastics side we will focus on chin-ups, box jumps, and handstand pushups. So yes, very foundational things that we can all improve on… but they should also improve many other things that we do in our workouts. That is true for both strength, stamina, and safety. Enjoy!
- Back Lot Bout – We had a team and they did great and, more importantly, had a great time. If you are someone who likes the idea of competition, talk to me, Antoinette, or one of the other coaches about starting a team. We won’t ever pressure anyone, but if it’s your thing we want to give you that outlet!
- Shout-Out – This week’s goes out everyone in the gym. So many PR’s were seen at the start of the cycle. That’s crazy! It will be interesting to see how much everything goes up at the end of this cycle, but there is something else. We need to focus on TECHNIQUE, then DEPTH, and finally WEIGHT. Our body will be able to do “sloppy” things at higher levels than “quality” things. We obviously focus on quality, so if you depth or technique reduce because of weight you must take off some of the weight… even if your body can do it. We want to keep everyone safe through this cycle and the best way to do that is by focusing on maintaining TECHNIQUE and DEPTH while adding weight.
